In some ways it seems like yesterday, but with the amount of work it has taken, I feel like I'm raising a child! :) What started as a hobby website has turned into an incredible resource for tall people, and this blog, Tall Snob and now Tall Snob Store.  It's time to celebrate! I just want to take the time to thank you for all of your support. If some of you know my story, this website has helped my family greatly over the last few years and I'm very thankful!

Gifts Every Tall Man Can Enjoy.

Let's face it; sometimes we just don't know what to get.  And a generic-ish gift is a necessity.  Why do I add the ISH?  well just because it's common doesn't mean it has to be lame.  If it's a stylish gift--and one which matches the recipients tastes and preferences, they'll appreciate it!  And even if they have a few [insert gift here], yours is sure to make it to the top of the list.  Here are a handful of gifts everyone can fit regardless of how tall he is.

Woven Silk Tie. (XLong) $49.50.  Christmas-y without being too Christmas-y.  Know what I mean?
Kenneth Cole "I Rest My Case" Computer Case. $129.95. This is one of the most affordable leather laptop bags I've come across!
Ugg Scuff Romeo II. (Up to size 18!). $100.00.  You already know how much I love Ugg.
Knit Suede Gloves. $39.95. These unfortunately don't come in "tall," but at least they don't come in "one size fits all" and you can choose a size large if your hands are particularly long/large.
Wool Blend Plaid Scarf. $49.50. Nice cozy scarf in a classic plaid pattern; what's not to love?
Beer Glasses + Mugs. $23.00. I love these glasses- especially with the personalizing.  You can be classy...even while drinking beer. ;)

Men's Soft, Tall Sweaters: Tall Personal Shopper

Today I am helping Linda with some tall personal shopper options.  She is looking for soft feeling, men's tall sweaters made of cotton that fit someone with a 17 inch neck and 38" long sleeves. He is 6'6" tall and around 190 pounds.

Linda,

Thanks for reaching out for personal shopping help. Most sweaters sizes aren't listed by neck or sleeve lengths. They are usually just listed by sizes - like LT.  According to those measurements, I'm guessing that he is about an XLT.  Below are the options that I found you including those made of softer fabrics. I especially like cashmere as it feels and looks luxurious. Be sure and check my sale page to make sure if there's any other coupons that may apply before you make your purchase.

Cool Kicks for Large Feet.

Do people even call them kicks anymore? Am I showing my age?  Alright, I'd better get to the point.  Those of you who read the Blog regularly know I get much of my style inspiration from GQ.  It's a bit fashion forward so I always try to temper the advice for the "average" male.  The latest headline that caught my eye was their fall lookbook featuring "pumped up kicks" [I guess people do still call them that]!  The editors of GQ have this to say:

"Stylish guys are fetishizing sneakers like never before, and designers have stepped up big-time. There are futuristic neon running shoes you can wear with a suit. Retro-inspired sneaks in shocking new colors. And a bunch of exclusive releases you'll see here for the first time—all of them fly."

See the whole slideshow here.
I've always been a fan of cool sneakers (or tennis shoes--where you're from dictates what you call them!).  I think real "running shoes" belong in the gym and nowhere else.  But what do you wear when you want to be comfortable?  Surely not your dress shoes.  Enter a stylish sneaker not really meant to work out in.  Sneakers no longer have to be sloppy. No need to pair with a track suit.  You can easily wear sneakers with jeans, cords, or even dress slacks.  I know this flies in the face of most guys' philosophy on shoes.  Black/Dressy.  Brown/Dressy.  Sneakers.  Hopefully by the time you finish viewing these cool picks you'll add one more pair to your list.  Keep reading for cool kicks available in large sizes. Here goes:

Vans Chukka. Up to size 16.  They come in TWENTY colors and are currently on sale.

Tweed/Texture:

Patagonia Maui Larry. Up to size 15 in two colors.

Creative Recreation Solano. Up to size 15 in two colors.

Cuttler Felt Wool Boots. Up to size 12- I know that's not very "large" for a man...but I couldn't help but include them!

Hi-Tops

Ugg Brockman in Black Leather.  Up to size 18.  They also come in an awesome shade of rust called "grizzly leather."

Puma Vettura Classico Mid. Up to size 14.

Lacoste Newton Mid VY2. Up to size 14.
Military Green
Impulse Men's 3/4 Canvas Boot

Impulse Men's 3/4 Canvas Boot. Up to size 15.

Clarks Men's Desert Boot

Clark's Desert Boot. Up to size 13.
Palladium Pampa Hi. Up to size 14.

Converse Men's All Star Clean Mid Shoe

Stay tuned for a few other trends including, look for less, retro runners, rock star kicks, and Chuck Taylors.

Tall Personal Shopper: Big & Tall Man Needs Shipping to Canada

Today's shopping request is for a 6'10" man who is fed up with ill-fitting clothing.  He especially wants some work dress shirts that fit. His size is a 18.5" neck, like a slim fit and has worn 38" sleeve lengths, but would love to have a 40" sleeve length. He has a 38" waist and wears a 36"-38" inseam length. Our client is 40 years old and describes his style as preppy. He also lives in Canada, so he needs items that will ship to Canada. (that's a challenge, but I think I got it.) His budget is to try and keep most items under $50.

Big & Tall Dress Shirts

Long Sleeved Casual Buttom-Up Shirts
For casual button-up shirts, one of your best bets is shopping at JCPenney as they have extra-tall sizes.
You can find more big and tall shirts here.

You mentioned you would like a blazer and I recommend:

Jos A Bank's - Executive 2-Button Wool Blazer as everyone needs a blue blazer and it comes in extra long sizes.

Work Pants
extra tall men's pants

Jeans
big and tall jeans that ship to canada

For the price and style, you can't beat Levi's brand for the extra tall guy!

I hope I've nailed down some styles that will work for you. Enjoy!
