Baby Carrier For Tall Women?

I'm looking for a baby carrier that fits me. I've tried a front backpack and rear one in the past, but found they don't fit right on my tall frame. With my upcoming adoption of a baby girl next month, I need some recommendations quickly. Our adoption agency highly recommends we purchase one, as it will help faciliate bonding. I'd even consider a sling. Please help! Leave your comments below.

Julie & Julia

Tonight was Friday night date night. We watched the movie "Julie & Julia". I must say that I think my husband may have been a tad bit more excited to see this movie than I. He is the chef in the family and I am .... well, you could say that I tolerate cooking. I find it a necessary task for the survival of our family, but it doesn't thrill me.
This movie was fantastic. I loved everything about it - minus them saying the "F" word one time. (I really hate when producers stoop that low!)
Did you know that Julia Childs was 6'2" tall? I didn't. I can't imagine the struggle she must have had to find clothing. Anyway, the movie shows us how Julia Childs turns to learning how to cook French cuisine after she moves there with her husband - who works in the American Embassy. In the process she finds new meaning to her life and an incredible passion.
Julie, a modern day woman, decides to recreate all of Julia Child's French recipes in a one year time frame and blog about them. In the process, she learns valuable life lessons and there are many parallels in their lives.
I recommend this movie. As a tall woman, there were many things she said that I identify with and love the way Julia Childs presented herself with grace and filled her life with happiness. I am even inspired to try French cooking.
And of course, we can home and ordered Julia Child's cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" from Amazon.

Tall Sheath Dress

Every tall woman needs a versatile slimming dress. We think this tall sheath dress should be a necessity in your wardrobe. Best of all it has a built-in shelf bra and hidden power-mesh slip with stay-put lace gripper edge. So, this is one dress that smoothes and slims you at the same time. Strategic pick stitching in corset-inspired lines creates an hourglass effect. So, where do you wear this tall sheath dress? This can be worn to cocktail parties as is. For more conservative events add a wrap over your shoulders or a slim fitting cardigan. This dress demands high heels. We recommend at least a mid to high heel - no flats.

Tall Woman Survives Shopping Trip to Mall

When the phone rings at five o'clock in the morning it's usually a bad sign. I answered the phone to find out my mother was in the hospital and I needed to take an emergency trip out of state. I scrambled to make arrangements for my older children while I would be gone. Then I hurriedly packed my suitcase with a few items of clothing for my baby and myself and drove 7 hours to get to the hospital.

What I thought would only be a few days visit, ended up being much longer. Guess what? I did not bring enough clothes and the clothes I brought were pretty strange looking. As a 6'1" tall woman, I prefer to shop online as I can find exactly what I need easily and hassle-free. In my desperation I ventured into the mall to find a few shirts. Luckily I had actually brought some decent tall pants, but I needed a few tops. Here is how I survived shopping in a mall where women's tall sizes are extinct.

I ventured into a department store and immediately tried to find a tall salesperson to assist me in finding some clothing as I figured they would understand how best to help me find clothing that fits my tall stature. To my dismay I could not find anyone tall working there. I quickly scanned the area for the sharpest dressed saleswoman. I finally found one that was extremely helpful.

I explained to her that I needed some tops in longer lengths. She found some great options for me and I even ended up with a few 3/4th sleeves jackets that were really cute over my longer tunics and shirts. As this store did not have tall sizes it took quite a bit of searching to find what I was looking for. Had I not been aided by a friendly salesperson that was familiar with the store, it would have been a nightmare.

I made sure I had an open mind, as some of the items suggested did not look too great on the hanger, but I loved them once I tried them on. I was also able to educate the woman as to what looks great on tall women as she kept handing me small printed shirts and I was able to explain that tall women need to keep everything in proportion to their size- meaning bigger patterns and strips etc. I was pleasantly surprised that what could have been a shopping fiasco turned into a fun experience.

Although I still prefer to buy tall sizes and I have my favorite tall stores to shop in, thanks to the help of a great saleswoman, I was able to survive my shopping trip to the mall.

Women's Trendy Tall Jeans for Fall

By Krista Mayne

I am a tall woman and I love jeans. Until recently tall jeans were very hard to find. Online shopping is definitely the best bet for finding tall jeans as many of the stores only offer their tall sizes online. I don’t mind online shopping as I can usually find great deals and lots of free shipping offers on the Internet. I have researched tall jeans extensively and here are some of the hottest trendy tall jeans for fall that I have found.

The two hottest trends in tall jeans this fall are wide leg tall jeans and straight leg tall jeans. Both jeans give your leg a nice clean line and make your waist look smaller. They also disguise troubled thigh areas. I recommend some with stretch and a nice sheen.

Another trend in tall jeans for fall is gray colored jeans. Gray is the new black for fall so make sure you pick up a pair of gray tall jeans. Try a pair of gray jeans with some great hardware and metallic stitching. Boot-cut tall jeans are always a wonderful choice, as they never go out of style. There are plenty of boot-cut tall jeans this season and dark tall jeans look especially nice, as they can be dressed up or down depending on your mood.

Designer tall jeans are popular this fall in some great brands such as Hudson, Joe’s Jeans and Seven for All Mankind. They are made from quality materials that hold up over time. If you haven’t tried a designer tall jean, it may be time for you to splurge and get yourself a pair, as you won’t believe how great they make you look!

This fall there are plenty of choices in women’s trendy tall jeans with inseams up to 38 inches long so start surfing the Internet and find some trendy tall jeans that fit.

Tall Women's Clothing Trends for Fall

By Krista Mayne

As a tall woman, I have struggled my whole life with fashion trends. Many of the fads look ridiculous on my tall stature. However, I love to look trendy without looking like I have tried too hard. Here are some of the current fashion trends for fall that I can incorporate to look great with my height.

1. Grey is the new black of the season. Grey pants, grey tall jeans or a grey shirt are the foundation pieces for any tall women’s fall wardrobe.

2. Texture is really hot this season. Get some large handbags and large purses with lots of texture. Some of my favorites are the new quilted handbags in bold colors, animal printed bags and belts and shiny items. Play up your accessories with lots of texture, but remember to keep the patterns big to balance out your tall proportions.

3. There are many women’s tall jeans on the market this fall. Two of the hottest trends are straight leg tall jeans and wide leg tall jeans. They look hot on just about any figure- whether you are tall and thin or a little on the heavy side. If you get these jeans in gray, you will be a “Tall Fashionista”.

4. Bold graphic prints are still in style for fall, which is great news for tall women. Graphic prints can be found everywhere and most of them are in large patterns. Large patterns are key, as they look great on tall women. Small patterns will make you look out of balance, so avoid them.

This fall, tall women have lots of great tall clothing options that will work great with our tall statures.

How's the weather up there?

The weather up here at 6'1" is quite nice, I must say. I don't mind being tall, at least now.

When I was younger it was a little rough. I was the tallest girl all through elementary school, and most of the time I was taller than any of the boys in my classes. In 4th grade, I was one of two girls on an all boys basketball team. I didn't get to touch the ball even once in the games as the boys would not pass the ball to me.

Junior high was the worst, as I was so much taller than everyone, especially in the small town I was in. What an awkward time! I was so skinny and clumsy. My coach told me that I couldn't jump higher than a cigarette paper. You grow 3 inches in a summer and see if you can even walk straight. I had no muscle tone at all.

I finally came into my own in high school. We had moved to a big city and suddenly there were lots of tall guys and some tall girls. That's where I met my best friend Rhetta. At 6'2", she was taller than me, we had an instance kinship. She understood my tall woes and we went everywhere together. We even dated some twins for a while. Suddenly, my height was seen as elegant and sought after. I have been amazed at the difference in attitudes as I have gotten older.

I am now married to a tall man, and I can wear heels. I am quite popular in the grocery stores as many shorter women ask me to get the cans off the top shelf. I can see over a crowd at all times, and I don't have to worry about drowning in the swimming pool. Being tall isn't so bad, in fact I rather love it!
