Best Scooter for Tall People

With high gas prices, more people are turning to scooters as an alternative cheap way to get around. On my recent visit to Taiwan, there were millions of scooter riders. After viewing the shortage of parking, it just makes sense to drive a scooter around Taipei. I even saw scooters packed with 2 adults, and 2 kids.

When I was in high school, my brother owned a scooter. While he was out of the country, I had the privelidge of driving his scooter for a summer. I loved the gas mileage, but have to admit I had a few close calls with crazy Utah drivers running me off the road. I learned to take the less- traveled roads to get around.

I just heard a news story on the best scooters for tall people. They rank Vespa scooters as the best for tall, leggy people. They have some really cool styles too!

Can REM Sleep Make You Tall?

Mr. Tall spent last night in the hospital doing a sleep study. You know - where they hook dozens of probes up to you and then expect you to sleep deeply so they can monitor you. Right!
Anyway, he had a conversation with the tech guy about kids and how some of our kids sleep deeply, but others are light sleepers.
The sleep tech said that you need to get into a deep REM sleep stage in order to grow as that is when your body does all of its' growing. I found this interesting as I sleep so well that an earthquake couldn't wake me at times.
I must have done a ton of REM sleeping as a kid and during puberity. So I told Mr. Tall that from now on, he needs to wake me every hour so I don't have a chance to enter into REM sleep as I don't want to grow any taller at this point.

The World's Tallest Teen Girl

Tall is popular! Have you seen all of the tall stories lately? Today Oprah, featured the world's tallest teen girl - Marvadene "Bubbles" Anderson. Bubbles is 6'10" tall.
She is from Jamaica, but moved to the United States last year in order to learn how to play basketball. She now plays for Rutgers Prep School girl's basketball team hopes to someday play in the WNBA.
"I want to be an inspiration to others," Bubbles says. "To all the tall people out there: Don't feel like you're alone. Just be happy and love yourself. Then, you'll get love from other people."

Funny Tall Story

Today I went grocery shopping. The local store is being remodeled and so some of the isles are pretty tight together. I bribed my two year old with a balloon so he would be good while shopping. When he chose his balloon it was between "Pirates of the Carribbean" or "Barbie". We went with Pirates. Unbeknownest to me, the balloon plays music and plays it loud. As we got to the end of a skinny food isle, right as we were turning the corner the balloon music came on in it's glory. At the same moment, a little old woman was also turning the corner. She saw me, in my 6'1" intimidating size and the balloon blaring and she literally jumped a foot. The look on her face was sheer horror. I felt kind of bad, but what do you do? I have been laughing ever since. It's not often you run into a woman as tall as me in my small town and have a balloon blare at you in your face. Poor lady. Are tall women intimidating? Yes, but at times it adds some humor to all of our lives.
